Speaking as one who is in no danger of becoming a millionaire but who is lucky enough to need to work only at stuff I enjoy working on…

I’m reminded of ‘Bubbles’ Rothermere, who (if I remember correctly) told a newspaper that the hardest-working people she knew were millionaires. Far be it from me to suggest that she was wrong, but that tells us a lot more about the late Viscountess Rothermere and the circles she moved in than it does about people who work hard but unaccountably fail to be millionaires.

Telling porkies

Piglets on Parade, the winner of the BBC’s Countryfile ‘Animal Magic’ photography competition, can apparently now be obtained on the front of the Countryfile calendar. How appropriate that it can be ordered via the BBC from Melton Mowbray.
