Actually, Ranworth Broad is part of the Bure Marshes National Nature Reserve, and is closed to river traffic to aid in its recovery as fenland.
That makes it a welcoming habitat to birdies like the two below. Despite a passing resemblance to Bill Oddie, any claims I might make to being a twitcher reflect age and natural clumsiness, not ornithological expertise: nevertheless, I’m fairly sure this is a (not rare, but rather elegant) Great Crested Grebe. Taken with a digital compact at some distance, so not great pictures:
